Brugge, Belgium

I just wanted to post some photos of Belgium. I don't think I've put many up on my Blog. I'm notoriously bad about taking photos of the places I go. I typically have a few photos from trips but I'm not a photo manic person on vacation or when I want to enjoy a place. When I have a camera in my hand I become "the seeker" of the next composition and fall in the act of possessing a place through photography. This is good when you want to do that but sometimes I really just want to experience a place without the camera in between my eye and the place I'm in. I'm also not particularly great at travel photography or landscapes.

Anyhow, you'll see in the photos some typical Belgian things like Beer, waffles, the bicycles and the buildings. Brugge is a tourist destination in Belgium and often featured in tours of Belgium or even tours of the Netherlands. I'm guessing a lot of British tourists come here and I always hear Spaniards walking around.

Brugge has fantastic canals throughout the city that you can take boat tours of. And of course the move "In Brugges" was filmed here and the Belfry tower is the last photo. The history is rich and Brugge is an important city in Belgium recognized as a UNESCO Heritage site. If you were to come to Belgium this would be a place to see along with Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, the Ardennes, Dinant, Namur, and so many other wonderful little cities and places. Belgium is little but there is a lot going on in this little country.
