Betianna and Chris-Houston Photographers, Houston Engagement Photographers, The Wortham Center, Downtown Houston

Betianna and Chris were referred to me by a friend and person I've photographed in the past.  They sent me some photos and said they were looking for a "vintage" type look in the photos and loved black and white!   I love black and white too so this whole post is black and white and a reverie of light and shadows.  I love these photos and we had so much fun creating them.  We met at The Wortham Center for the Performing Arts and we were very lucky to get in to do the photos.   I love photography as an art form, not just portraiture and weddings and especially old style black and white photos of cities, street photography, night photography, etc.  Photography began with black and white and means "Writing with Light"  Photo=light and Graphy=writing...when you watch old movies like Hitchcock movies the shadows and light really create the atmosphere and scene.  I knew that The Wortham Center had so much light and shadows and the look of an old time scene so the photos would have this look.  Of course, the two of them also have a natural "vintage" look so it worked out very nicely I think.  Enjoy!  And if you like black and white photography give me a call!

Jahnea and David-Houston Wedding Photographers, Houston Weddings,The Bell Tower on 34th

Jahnea and David were married at The Bell Tower on 34th, which is a beautiful venue.  They met 8 years ago when she was getting out of the Navy and he was going back in.  A year or so ago she moved to Houston from San Diego to be with him after he proposed.  I have to admit that I have traditionally been a daytime or natural light photographer and lately I've been photographing a lot in the evening, inside and in a more urban environment. So I've had to adjust what I am doing adding a few lighting tools to my bag of photo tricks.  Her dress was gorgeous.  It was by Maggie Sottero.  Who Made The Cake provided the cake once again (delicious and beautiful!), The bridesmaids dresses were by Vera Wang at David's Bridal.  Darryl &Co provided all the linens and decor. Their families were a lot of fun and it was a busy day as the schedule ran behind about an hour for photos (not advisable) so I took every minute I could get to get these and many more!  Enjoy!
