Marcia and Mike's Wedding in Florida

I shot a wedding right before I left the States and have been working on it. Almost done! It looks great and there are a lot of fun photos from the rainy wedding day, the reception and the beach the next! Here are some of my favorites!

Back in U.S. in two and a half weeks

I haven't had internet which has been very difficult for me out here in Europe. We were set up in temporary housing and normally there is internet and a phone but since we brought our animals we got a small studio with no updates to live in temporarily. So, I trek to the internet cafe to check my emails, upload and try to respond to emails once a day. We do have a house to live in finally and we move in there on the 9th of May so after that we will have internet and no problems with communication or uploading of photos. But on the 14th I head back to the States so really, just a few more days of being disconnected from my cyber world!

In Belgium until May 15th!

Just so everyone knows...I'll be in Belgium until May 15th. I will be checking my voicemails, answering emails, designing albums and making any necessary phone calls to all my clients. I will be back on May 15th in Ohio. This next year I am excited to announce that I will be working all over the U.S. photographing weddings and then permanently residing in Belgium in October! If anyone is interested in Destination Weddings I will now be available in Europe as well as in "The States". Please let me know if you have any questions about contacting me as well as your upcoming weddings. I will get back to you urgently so there are as few inconveniences with me being out of Ohio as possible. Thanks!

Amanda and Jason's baby Lucas!!

Baby Lucas is three weeks old and we had fun photographing him a couple of days ago. I've had the honor of photographing Amanda and Jason since their engagement photos, wedding photos, pregnancy photos and now the baby. I love it !!! Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Heather and Keith's wedding

I realize that I have been bad at posting new photos! I just got so busy last year and doing everything myself keeps me a little slow at getting everything I want to done. Here are some photos from Heather and Keith's wedding. Since my blog has photos from their engagement session, pregnancy photos and soon baby photos I better get their wedding photos online! And I missed one of their pregnancy photos I thought was cute!

Congratulations to Mothers and Mothers to be

I have a few clients from the last year of weddings that are expecting and who have just given birth! Congratulations! I love being able to photograph this period of life! Baby photos will follow!

When I met Natalie she was pregnant and it has been fun photographing Samantha as she gets older. These are some of my favorites from the last session. It's always too hard to choose which ones are my favorites.

Sarah and Kevin

I just thought this one was a cute one of the two of them without their dog. They are getting married this December 1, and then Kevin is heading over to be a medic in Kuwait for a year right after the New Year.

They wanted to take photos for their engagement session with thier dog, which always has a lot of challenges but is fun!

Honeymoon in the Hocking Hills

We love to go to the Hocking Hills and have been there 8 or 9 times in the last two years since we moved here. It is so beautiful and we find not a lot of people from Ohio have even been there. We stay at cabins and our favorite place is the Glenlaurel Scottish Inn. We've hiked every trail and are actually going to rent a cabin and stay with some friends this winter. If you haven't been there you have to go. It is enchanted!

Our wedding reception was in this cabin!

The cabin was perfect for our wedding. It was very cozy and fit 60 people which was all we had at our wedding. We were, for the most part, able to spend time with everyone throughout the weekend and so it had a very personal feeling. Almost everything was done by someone we know, a friend or at least vendors in the area we liked. It was the perfect imperfect wedding for us. The ceremony ran an hour late because Steve's dad got lost on the way. Our main photographer got lost in the woods after the ceremony but luckily I had three other photographers photographing so we got some cool shots on the horse and carriage until he found his way out of the woods. I do wish that I had more photographs with some people but by the time we got to the cabin for the reception we were quite behind schedule and even though we spent about 5 hours at the reception it really flew by. What was so hilarious about it all was that since I go to weddings all the time I thought I wouldn't fall into the no eating, no sleeping, no stressing category of brides. That didn't happen at all. I hardly slept at all that weekend waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning every day. I lost about 10 lbs from not having time to eat. We had to call Roter Rooter three times because our sewers kept backing up (and we had about 10 - 50 people at our house every day at all times) and my phone kept ringing so much I just gave it to someone to hold on to and answer. I couldn't handle the phone or questions and please never ask me to pose for a photo-that was torture! So, I feel for all my brides and grooms A LOT more now and also really am appreciative of the time, energy and emotions that go into weddings.

Our wedding photos!

Our wedding was very untraditional with some traditions blended into it. We got married out in the woods at John Bryan State Park, followed by a hike through the woods where at the end we met a horse and carriage to take us to the reception. The reception was in a Greene County Parks building that has a cozy cabin like feeling. We ate Greek food from the Greek Isle Deli and we has a bluesgrass band play. Their name is "The Student Loan" and they were awesome. My mom cooked the cake-carrot cake- and we had a dessert table with other desserts cooked by other friends and ourselves. My flowers were from Unique Designs in Kettering and Amy did an AMAZING job. I loved my boquet. Our photographs were taken by four of my friends so we got some very interesting photos taken from all angles. However, by the time we got to take photos we were running an hour late so Steve didn't last very long and we had few photos of the two of us without him smirking from being tired and stressed out from the day. So here are a few of our favs!

Family photos!

Tyiesha Magee's family. She is the make up artist and esthetician that I recommend to people. She made me look beautiful on my wedding day also and does great spa parties.

Heather and Rob

Heather is my assistant and took the photo of Steve and I on our wedding day that I love. Her and Rob have been married for 5 years now and we did a fun couple shoot of them. This is my favorite photo of the two of them.

Mary and Steve

I loved this photo of them because it showed more personality. It is genuine and sweet.

A recent engagement shot I liked with Colleen and Steve

I climbed the tree...

I got married...

I got married and have been on the computer working so much that I haven't had time to update anything nor get any of my photos taken care of from my wedding. What's the saying, "The cobbler's son is the first to go without shoes." I'm definitely the case of that. But here is one of my favorite photos from out wedding. I learned a lot about being the bride and photos. Our wedding ran an hour late and so when it came time for photos Steve was just about done with it and had no smile, nor the energy to do much. Getting me to pose for the camera was like pulling teeth...in the end we got some beautiful photographs which I will share one day in February or March after I finish all the other weddings I have to work on.
